Promenade at the Dunes is one of the most talked-about developments on the Monterey Peninsula. It’s a unique, visitor-friendly, open-air shopping promenade in Marina — in the heart of Shea Homes’ The Dunes neighborhood, not far from the shores of Monterey Bay.
And now, Village Square Park — which promises to serve as a welcoming place for Promenade visitors and The Dunes residents alike — has opened to give the community a vibrant heartbeat through a variety of amenities and offerings.

Community Gathering Place
Located at the west end of the Promenade along General Stillwell Drive just south of 10th Street, Village Square Park is where shoppers, diners, moviegoers and other visitors will come together to relax, refresh and enjoy life.
Kids skipping, chasing and laughing around the sparkling green. People sitting and chatting in front of two-sided fire pits on a brisk summer’s eve. Musical artists performing on the raised stage under the covered pavilion. And others taking the time to appreciate the stunning fine art including sculptures, mosaics and murals throughout the Promenade.
In addition, decorative lighting will keep Village Square Park alive well into the evening as the days grow shorter. Clearly no visit to shop or eat in the Promenade will be complete without spending time in this comfortable community gathering place.
Monterey Bay Moves Offering Classes
There will also be an array of activities that The Dunes residents and visitors can participate in. Monterey Bay Moves wellness and fitness specialists offers community sessions twice weekly in Village Square Park: Balanced Body Conditioning on Wednesdays at 9 a.m. and a Full-Body Conditioning workout every Saturday morning at 9.
The classes are free to The Dunes homeowners’ association members, with a modest service fee for others. Expect many more activities and events — as well as organized and impromptu performances — to be added over time.
Commercial Space Is Filling Up Fast
Promenade at the Dunes now offers a limited number of suites or full buildings from 1,247 sq. ft. to 3,028 sq. ft., some spaces with patios.
